What is MSU Book Club?
Welcome to MSU book club! We are a community who enjoys discussing and sharing thoughts on literature. Our club meets twice a month on Mondays to discuss and vote on new books to read. Not only is it a great place to discuss books, but our club is also a fantastic place to make friends! Through our events, meetings, and parties, we have an amazing community that welcomes anyone who is interested in joining. We can't wait to see you soon!
How do I join MSU Book Club?
Being a part of MSU Book Club is easy! First, follow us on Instagram and Discord to stay up to date on our latest information. Next, come to meetings and events! If you can't make it to every meeting, there's no need to stress. Our club is incredibly flexible and attendance is never required. Staying up to date on our social media is key to staying involved.
What are meetings like? How do we vote on books?
Meetings for MSU Book Club are fairly simple. We meet every other Monday to discuss and vote on new books. Once a month at our meetings, we discuss our previous book and vote on a new book to read as a group. This book is selected from a pool of nominations sent to our Discord and Instagram pages that any member can participate in. At our next meeting, we do book-related activities and answer discussion questions for the first half of the book. Nominations will then open back up for the next book of the month.
What types of books will we read?
We read anything and everything! Our process is incredibly open to new genres and the book of the month is based soley on what the club feels like reading. Don't like our book of the month? No problem! At each meeting, we'll discuss books outside of our book of the month that people are passionate about talking about.
